What do you have that you   did not receive? (1Corinthians 4:7 )

For it is by grace we have been saved through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.     Ephesians 2:8-9

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?                             1 Corinthians 4:7

Matthew 7:1-3 Amplified version

Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly].

For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.

Why do you look at the [insignificant] speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice and acknowledge the [egregious] log that is in your own eye?

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”      Luke 8:38

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.   Matthew 6:14

I must be honest, l was totally wrecked by these verses… The bible is so clear, l realised l have so far to go, so much to learn and so much unlearning of ways that are not God’s. At times religion takes you to the law but it is by grace that l am saved. It’s nothing l did, but Grace… Oh how I’m so grateful that God had mercy on me.

This is an encouragement to us all to remember to look at each other with grace as we work out our salvation .

🙏Father teach me to be gracious, for you have be so gracious to me. To forgive, to love even as you have done for me..

Much love

Shalom

  1. Hello dear blogger,

I like how you opened your post. Effective and engages readers immediately. It reminds me of a writing prompt. And of course people can relate, since who hasn’t been guilty of blindness, pain, etcetera? Thank you for this example. I must remember to use this approach.

Thank you for also reminding us of how we should behave as Christians. For myself, over the past few years, the more I’ve appreciated God’s attributes, the more I’ve realised that I need to similarly demonstrate the same qualities to others.

I popped over to thank you for following Womenofwarfare! Appreciated. 😃
