Hope never puts us to shame.

Hard times do come from time to time. Trying times and circumstances that test our trust and hope. When we lose hope in these situations we lose our joy, our faith, our strength, our love and we become sick in our hearts.👇🏾

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.” PROVERBS‬ ‭13:12‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Hope expresses a cherished desire, along with a confident assurance of obtaining that which is longed for.

Having hope in God, is a practical tool we can use in difficult situations. I for one get into all sorts of trials and l know God is strengthening me through them. And whenever l look back l see that God is faithful and he has never tested me beyond what l can bear.

And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation].” ROMANS‬ ‭5:3-4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Isn't this ☝🏽 just perfect 👌 . Whenever we hope in his promises of protection, deliverance, love, grace , mercy, the list goes on but our hope in God will never put us to shame.

Another promise of God we can hope in is written in Jeremiah 29: 11

“~‘For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.”

Therefore we hope in the plans God has for us, they will surely come to pass 🙏.

🔸 Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed; Those who turn away from what is right and deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed (humiliated, embarrassed).”
‭‭PSALM‬ ‭25:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

🔸Kings will be your attendants, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you shall know [with an understanding based on personal experience] that I am the LORD; For they shall not be put to shame who wait and hope expectantly for Me.” ISAIAH 49:23

🔸O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption.”PSALM‬ ‭130:7‬ ‭AMP‬‬ 🙌🏻

🙏 His eyes are on us when we hope confidently in His ability to do for us as he promised!

Abraham is another great example of unwavering hope and faith “In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised [by God]: “S O [numberless] SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE.”” ROMANS‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The Holy Spirit will give us hope http://bible.com/1588/rom.15.13.amp and confidence in God's promises.

Benefits of hope

Joy – “🙌🏻constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength],” ROMANS‬ ‭12:12‬ ‭AMP‬

Boldness 👇🏾
“Since we have such a [glorious] hope and confident expectation, we speak with great courage,”. 2 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭3:12‬

Faith & Love –
for we have heard of your faith in Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness],
and of the [unselfish] love which you have for all the saints (God’s people); because of the [confident] hope [of experiencing that] which is reserved and waiting for you in heaven. You previously heard of this hope in the message of truth, the gospel [regarding
salvation]”. COLOSSIANS‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Glory – “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2 KJV

All your hopes and efforts are not to waste, The eyes of the Lord are on you. Keep your eyes on Him and He will never put you and me to shame.

I hope you are strengthened in your Hope in God.

Much love 💕

Peace is a language of God.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are looking for answers, you are wanting God to say something but it seems He is not responding to you in the way that you are used to?. When you are trying to make a big decision that has the capacity to alter your life forever.

I have now learnt that peace is a language of God. In situations where you can't seem to hear the voice of God ask yourself how much at peace you are with making that next move?.

Peace or lack of it is a language of God.

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.”     ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.”  ‭‭2 THESSALONIANS‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“May the God of peace be with you all! Amen."    ROMANS‬ ‭15:33 AMP

Considering that God is a God of peace, our lack of peace in times of decision making or at any stage of our lives may indicate disagreement with God and his will for us.

In other instances it may show our lack of trust in God, in the form of worry and anxiety.

It's important for us to know that God wants us to have peace whatever the circumstances. It is never in God's will for us to be frustrated.

Here are some instances l have found myself lacking peace

  • When God is communicating my need to do what he instructed.
  • When I'm about to make a bad decision.
  • When trying to fix issues that only God can fix, hence I'm troubled.
  • When my trust and focus is not on God.

Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” ‭‭PHILIPPIANS‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

““For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you.” ‭‭ISAIAH‬ ‭54:10‬ ‭AMP‬

This just hit home with me, 🙌🏻God has a covenant of peace with us which can never be shaken!

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]”‭‭JOHN‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭AMP‬‬

☝🏽😢 Troubled hearts have no peace!.The amount of time l have wasted not claiming peace, allowing myself to be troubled. I'm angry at the devil for stealing my peace for all these years. I'm going to claim peace, pursue it and fight the devil with his schemes that steal my peace.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord GOD is the eternal Rock.”   Isaiah‬ ‭26:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How perfect is this it's a promise to us that when we fix our thoughts on God and Trust Him, He will give us peace.

Lastly l believe that knowing that we have peace with God, through Jesus Christ is important. God loves us and wants us to have peace, he is not happy when we are troubled.

“Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).”          ROMANS‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I hope this encourages you to seek peace, For God is a God of peace. And whenever you lack peace pursue it. It's yours and mine.

Recognise the Counterfeit

All through our lives the enemy will try to distract us from God’s best for us.

The devil is a liar and he is very good at giving you a counterfeit. A presentation that is close enough, just so you don’t get to perfect will of God.

A counterfeit is defined as something “made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intention to deceive or defraud.”

To overcome we have to know the truth so that when the lie is presented recognise it.

EPHESIANS‬ ‭5:17‬-18 AMP‬‬

“Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.”

‭‭”Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.”

‭‭At times l can be a little impatient. As l was working through what to write about today God took me to the above verses ☝🏽.

As l began to seek for understanding, l realised that in my current season l was beginning to get blinded of the will of God  for me.

The illustration given in EPHESIANS‬ ‭5:18 of drunkeness is exactly what we become when we are not led by the spirit. To grasp the will of God we have to be constantly led by the spirit.. Our adversary the devil deceives us  when we are led by our emotions, by our circumstances, by worldly goals and times deadlines.

Being a child of God, trying to live according to his will, l am constantly bormbaded with perception, opinions and questions. And l recognised that if l am not vigilant l will  settle for counterfeit blessings.

  1. Recognise  and understand the will of God for your life.
  2. Know the truth about what God says and the promises He has for you.
  3. Be vigilant and know that you have an enemy.
  4. Be filled with the spirit and let him lead you
  5. Don’t settle for something God hasn’t confirmed for you.

Prayer 🙏

Dear Father, may you help us to constantly seek your will, grant us grace to be led by the spirit constantly. Help us to recognise anything that is not from you that we may always stay in your perfect will..  Amen

I hope you are encouraged

When God says “Wait “.

Recently l have been pondering upon the things l desired at certain times and they didn’t occur when l expected.  Waiting can be rather frustrating, especially when it seems like time is running out or everyone else seems ahead.

I realised how great a Father God is not to give me things when l am not ready for them. God loves us so much and He wants us to do well in everything. He doesn’t want us overwhelmed and unable to go through his purpose for us in joy.

He cares about everything that concerns us. Many times we see delays as denials. Yet God is preparing us for greater things. He is working in us the right attitude, most cases God is making us deserving of that blessing. As God is a rewarder of those who deligently seek him ( Hebrews 11:6)

Psalms 84:11

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor;

No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

So when God says wait,  that desire, that plan, or whatever you are seeking is not yet good for you. It may cause you to draw back or move away from the purpose of God.

You may not be ready for that platform yet. Instant gratification may cause you to be pressured by people and you end up drifting away from the plans and purpose of God which are always higher than ours.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.

Remember God’s promises are yes and amen . If God said He will do it then He will. He is not a man that he should lie. Our God is able. As the word of God says in

Numbers 23:19 –            God is not a man, that He should lie,Nor a son of man, that He should repent.Has He said, and will He not do?Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

When God says wait, I realised He means trust me, he has something better for me. He is working it all out. God has put in us desires which He knows and will fulfill.

I’m learning to embrace the seasons as l wait on the promises of God.

I hope you are encouraged to wait on God.

The enemy Doubt

This got me thinking. Are they things l haven’t received because of doubt? God responds to my Faith.

Have l been praying and doubting. Doubting the ability of God?

My spiritual Father taught us that the most effective part of a prayer is what you do after it. Prayer in itself is effective but how you behave after a prayer makes it even more effective..

I can honestly say that at times l have fallen into that trap. I pray and yet still worry, still pondering on it. How does that help me? It only makes me unsettled, it means l have prayed and not believed in the results. Hence l am doubting, l am restlessness in my thoughts, in my feelings and decisions.

James 1 :8 AMP

“being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].”

http://bible.com/1588/jas.1.8.amp ‭

This really got me all wrecked and l realised the need to repent from the enemy doubt.

James says there that such a person is not to expect to receive from God. Could it be that the thief has been using doubt to stop you from receiving from God?.

I believe this doesn’t only relate to asking for wisdom only, in all our requests to God let us believe in God’s willingness to help us. Trusting that He is able to do even more than we could care to think or ask.

We are blessed when we believe what we have not seen.

                   JOHN‬ ‭20:29‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, do you now believe? Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, and favored by God] are they who did not see [Me] and yet believed [in Me].”

🙏 Oh gracious Father we love you, thank you for showing us your word and your ways. Teach us to believe. Remove all doubt from our minds. Thank you for your unending mercies.

I hope this encourages you

The reason Why?

There are many times l have done things out of habit without really thinking about what I was doing.

The past year God took me into some situations where l had to ask myself why l go to church, why do l pray and why do l sing.

I was born and raised in the church, for me Sunday was a day to go to church, l had never not gone to church on Sunday it’s something we did. I would feel terrible if l didn’t.
So when things began to get hard, so much that all l knew was shattered. The people l used to go to church with left. The things l used to do easily became harder. I had to put more effort, travel longer, pray more, my friends had left. I wanted to quit.

And God asked me Why? God was looking to change my way of thinking and living, my way of serving. See l had become religious. I had good intentions but l didn’t please God. I was more concerned about people than l was with what God wanted. Realising this shook me.
God had begun a process of changing my why..

Your why should always include the fact that you love God. Your motive should always come back to God.

To worship him because we love him. To go to church to hear his word and to worship him together with others.

There is no love without sacrifice. When things get hard, don’t quit before asking yourself why. See because deep down l did love God, l wanted to please him. So if my reason for going to church was because l had friends and family there then when they left l would leave too.

If my reason for giving, for loving and serving God was because it was easy when it got hard then l would give up.
God wants you, your heart and your love. And l honestly believe God deserves that, he deserves being served in honesty. Situations are not always ideal and that doesn’t mean God is not there.

So l vowed to worship God wether happy or sad.

Do l encounter difficulties yes,                 Do
l find myself alone at times yes,        Do people misunderstand at times yes.

But the reason l serve God is because l love him and he is worthy of all of me. God is God, the creator of heaven and earth.

I began a journey to finding out who God is to me.  I can testify that as soon as l changed my Why, my life has never been the same. There is meaning and purpose in my life now.

I believe that is why God says in John 4:23

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God seeks people to worship him in spirit and in truth, our way of serving is an art of worship, and when we serve him with the right reasons we please him.

Challenge your reasons Why?

I hope this encourages you

What do you have that you   did not receive? (1Corinthians 4:7 )

For it is by grace we have been saved through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.     Ephesians 2:8-9

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?                             1 Corinthians 4:7

Matthew 7:1-3 Amplified version

Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly].

For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.

Why do you look at the [insignificant] speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice and acknowledge the [egregious] log that is in your own eye?

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”      Luke 8:38

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.   Matthew 6:14

I must be honest, l was totally wrecked by these verses… The bible is so clear, l realised l have so far to go, so much to learn and so much unlearning of ways that are not God’s. At times religion takes you to the law but it is by grace that l am saved. It’s nothing l did, but Grace… Oh how I’m so grateful that God had mercy on me.

This is an encouragement to us all to remember to look at each other with grace as we work out our salvation .

🙏Father teach me to be gracious, for you have be so gracious to me. To forgive, to love even as you have done for me..

Much love
